Promenade Streets include a wide walkway for strolling and people-watching. In northern Europe and North America, the promenade streets are usually planted like parks to bring nature into the city. The walkway, or promenade, can be added to avenues and boulevards, either in the center of the street or to one side. In Spain and South America, promenade streets are called “Ramblas.” Both types can vary in length from a few blocks to many blocks.
